TU-ID: Univers
ity Professor (all genders) for the specialist field of Parallel Computing TU Wien is Austria's largest inst
itution of research and higher education in the fields of technology and natural sciences. W
ith over 26,000 students and more than 4000 scientists, research, teaching, and learning dedicated to the advancement of science and technology have been conducted here for more than 200 years, guided by the motto "Technology for People". As a driver of innovation, TU Wien fosters close collaboration w
ith business and industry and contributes to the prosper
ity of society. At the Inst

ith the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology. Applications such as Machine Learning are driving up computational demand. Hence, computing systems built from interconnected multi- and many-core processors w
ith a significant number of independent - possibly heterogeneous - cores need to be dealt w
ith effectively and efficiently. Parallel computing, including algor
ithms and data structures, compilers, operating and runtime systems, software, programming methods, applications, and arch
itectural support, will continue to be of v
ital importance to all areas of computer science and industry for the foreseeable future. In line w
ith the faculty's research focus on Computer Engineering, the professorship will emphasize performance- and hardware-oriented, reliable programming of parallel systems ranging from embedded multi- and many-core processors to large-scale heterogeneous systems (CPUs, GPUs, Accelerators, etc.). The research areas of the successful candidate should cover some of the following research topics in the context of multi-/many-core systems and heterogeneous arch
itectures: Algor
ithms, models, tools, and data structures for parallel computing, including AI-enabled parallel computing and parallel-computing-enabled AI Performance- and hardware-oriented programming and software engineering of parallel systems Compilers, runtime systems, operating systems, and middleware for parallel systems Applicants must have a strong expertise and research record in parallel computing covering the range from algor
ithms to systems. The professorship has tight links w
ith Computer Engineering in the areas of computer arch
itecture, computer networks, operating systems, reliabil
