Zur Verstärkung des Fachbereichs Film am Department Creative Technologies der FH Salzburg schreiben wir folgende Position als Junior Lecturer (w/m/x) in Teilzeit aus und suchen dafür eine praxisorientierte Persönlichkeit im Bereich Kamera und Filmtechnik: Junior Lecturer Film / Camera (w/m/x) Aufgaben * Lehrtätigkeit im Ausmaß von 6 SWS * Betreuung und Begleitung studentischer Bachelor- und Masterarbeiten bzw. In 18 bachelor's and 15 master's degree programs, 3,400 students train in the fields of engineering, business and social sciences, design, media & art, as well as health sciences. To strengthen our interdisciplinary Bachelor programme MultiMediaArt, we are looking for an external lecturer with extensive experience in storytelling, narrative design, creative strategy and narrative innovation. The position involves teaching within a consecutive two-semester course sequence attended by students from Film, Audio, Communication Design, Animation and Game Design. Lectureship The Art of Story (Winter Semester / 2 weekly semester hour / Type: Lecture with exercise) Lectureship Future Storytelling (Summer Semester / 2 weekly semester hour / Type: Lecture with exercise) The courses form an interdisciplinary minor track designed to complement the students' primary specialization ( Film / Audio/ Animation/ Communication Design). Students develop a personal storytelling approach and learn how narrative thinking can strengthen their creative work. Story is understood in its broadest sense: as the creation of meaning, emotion, engagement and audience connection. This is not a screenwriting course. The focus lies on narrative thinking as a transferable creative skill that can be applied across disciplines, formats and technologies. Tasks * Teaching within the consecutive course sequence The Art of Story and Future Storytelling Guiding students in the development of an individual storytelling approach Supporting interdisciplinary narrative experimentation Supervising practical assignments and student projects Supporting students in developing an individual creative voice Contributing current developments from storytelling, creative strategy and emerging media Topics may include: Foundations of storytelling and narrative thinking Story structure, meaning and audience engagement Narrative design and worldbuilding Brand storytelling and communication Future narratives and speculative storytelling Development of an individual storytelling voice The language of instruction is English. Profile We are looking for applicants (m/f/x) with extensive professional experience in: Storytelling Literature Theatre Narrative Design Creative Writing Creative Strategy Advertising Brand Storytelling Game Design and Interactive Storytelling Arts and Culture Related creative disciplines A relevant university degree and teaching experience are desirable. Outstanding professional achievements and substantial industry experience may compensate for formal requirements. Tasks The content includes topics such as: Theory of deep learning models; Standard neural networks (Feed-forward network, RNN,CNN); Modern neural networks (LSTM, GAN, Attention, Transformer); Application of neural networks with current frameworks on big data. Interpretability of machine learning models and specifically neural networks. Critical examination of topics related to deep learning: data protection, discrimination, etc The language of instruction is English.
