Your Responsibilities Excellent research needs state-of-the-art IT infrastructure and innovative digital services. With a team of about 50 experts, we will redesign the institute's digital landscape over the next few years and implement an ambitious digital transformation programme to facilitate the Institute’s rapid growth. SAP is our platform for digital administration in procurement, finance, and HR.
As part of our SAP Team in the Division IT & Digital Transformation, you will play a key role in optimising and supporting our SAP environment, ensuring seamless financial and controlling processes in the FI (Financial Accounting) and CO (Controlling) modules. Experience with the SAP FI and CO modules is highly desirable, as you will contribute to cross-departmental projects such as the ongoing S/4HANA conversion, the implementation of SAP PS (Project System), and a new solution for budget planning and financial reporting.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to oversee and drive SAP projects focusing on the Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules. You will plan, coordinate, and manage the implementation of SAP-related projects as well as day-to-day operations of our SAP landscape. Your activities include:
Leading and managing SAP projects related to FI and CO modules, from initial structuring to successful implementation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into SAP solutions together with external partners
Coordinating cross-functional project teams, with both internal and external partners
Overseeing process optimisation and system enhancements within the SAP FI/CO modules
Analysing, designing, and implementing business processes, coordinating system enhancements, and preparing related documentation
Serving as the primary contact for SAP FI/CO-related inquiries and providing expertise for further developments, upgrades, and rollouts
Preparing project documentation and providing training for end-users
Participating in the conversion from SAP ECC to S/4HANA in an alliance with other institutions
Ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
Managing external subcontractors and consultants
Your Profile Ideally, experience with SAP FI and CO modules
Strong understanding of financial accounting and controlling processes
Very good technical and good working knowledge of information technology
University degree in business administration, business informatics, or a similar field
Analytical mindset with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Working language is English, good working knowledge in German is an advantage
