    The impact you'll make

    As a Global Product Support Engineer at Lam, you're the backbone of technical support for field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel. Your expertise is crucial in diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging complex semiconductor equipment. Your swift action in responding to situations is critical in resolving issues and ensuring satisfaction of Lam's valued customers.

    What you'll do

    • Responsible for providing quality on-site repair and maintenance service of complex electro-mechanical systems.
    • Analytical troubleshooting of technical problems to component level.
    • Performs complete installation/relocation start-up services
    • Troubleshoot equipment problems and conduct diagnostic procedures to isolate problems and take steps to minimize downtime or system interruptions and eliminate equipment malfunctions. Determine corrective actions as required.
    • Installations and/or relocations of equipment at customers' sites.
    • Remain up to date on equipment/tools through appropriate training, manuals, factory periodicals and other relevant materials.
    • Assist in complex field modifications and updates as released in Engineering Change Notifications.
    • Maintain records and reports as required to properly coordinate activities with supervisors and customers.
    • Planning, management, and execution of projects of a limited scope and duration

    • Technical education in electronics, engineering or other applicable field of study (Bachelor)
    • min. 3 years of equivalent work experience
    • Able to work rapidly for prolonged periods of time, including bending, stooping, reaching, walking, sitting and standing in one location
    • Understand and work from electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams
    • Ability to interpret operation manuals to determine root cause of tool failures
    • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Work independently, cooperatively in a team or with customers completing assignments with minimal supervision and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads
    • Adhere to customer rules and policies regarding worksite behavior and safety

    • Review, analyze and process purchase requisitions
    • Process purchase change orders and requests for quotes (RFQ's) to suppliers
    • Manage purchase order releases daily to meet demand requirements
    • Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner
    • Work with the suppliers on a daily basis to assure scheduled deliveries are met
    • Understand, maintain weekly reports

    • Commercial education - e.g. apprenticeship (LAP) or HAK
    • Experience in the semiconductor industry or other technical industry is preferred
    • Basic understanding of commodity market indicators and technical data
    • Six Sigma certification, 8D training, APICS certification • Prior experience managing the commercial and tactical aspects of supply chain requirements

    • Market Analysis and Forecasting: Develop and maintain forecast models for existing and new market segments. Maintain application matrix database.

    The impact you'll make

    Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials. Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions. Ensures the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels. Responsible for sourcing and supplying raw materials, utilities and outside services, as well coordinating global procurement efforts. Coordinates with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory carrying costs. Reviews and plans requirements for acceptable inventory. May assist with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system. May work with customers in auditing customer inventory levels and with internal and external vendors to comply with inventory policies. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

    What you'll do

    • Lead and manage the Remote Factory (RF) commodity, including a team of Supplier Business Managers, and Strategic Commodity Managers supporting high‑volume, high‑spend operations.
    • Own end‑to‑end RF supplier performance for delivery, cost, quality, capacity, and risk, with a focus on tactical execution and operational continuity.
    • Manage high transaction volumes including capacity planning, order execution, reschedules, expedites, and shortage resolution to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing output.
    • Align manufacturing demand, MRP signals, and capacity plans between internal factories and Remote Factories to support ramps and volume fluctuations.
    • Develop and execute RF commodity strategies, including supplier segmentation, capacity reservation models, and risk mitigation plans.
    • Act as primary escalation point for RF‑related supply issues; lead root cause analysis and corrective actions when required until resolution.
    • Collaborate closely with other commodity leads to ensure seamless supply where non‑RF commodities feed into Remote Factories.
    • Drive supplier performance metrics (OTD, lead time, inventory, capacity adherence) and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Partner with Operations, Planning, Engineering, Logistics, and Finance to ensure alignment across the supply chain.
    • Lead contract negotiations, commercial frameworks, and service level agreements with RF suppliers.
    • Support scaling and optimization of an already large Remote Factory network, including process standardization and planning maturity.

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Logistics, or related discipline.
    • 8+ years of experience in Supply Chain, commodity management, or factory materials management in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
    • 3+ years of people management experience.
    • Proven experience in dealing with Remote Factories and Contract Manufacturing.
    • Strong understanding of MRP, production planning, and supplier capacity management.
    • Experience managing high‑spend, high‑transaction supplier portfolios
    • Strong knowledge of purchasing agreements and contracting.
    • Proven ability to manage cross‑commodity and cross‑functional dependencies.
    • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
    • Solid written and verbal communication skills in English. German Knowledge would be an asset.
    • Willingness to travel when required (25%)

    • Architect and operate one‑click resolution workflows that standardize recovery actions and significantly reduce dependency on manual intervention
    • Design, implement, and maintain DevOps‑based automation for software packaging, deployment, and lifecycle management across corporate client endpoints
    • Build and own CI/CD pipelines to ensure automation is versioned, tested, secure, and deployed reliably at scale
    • Create and maintain robust scripts, tooling, and automation frameworks to eliminate manual operational effort and reduce MTTR
    • Integrate automation and remediation logic with endpoint management, monitoring, and alerting platforms to enable event‑driven remediation

    Who we're looking for

      Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
      Strong hands‑on experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)
      Experience supporting or automating enterprise client/endpoint environments (Windows and/or macOS)
      Hands‑on experience with DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and systems or infrastructure automation
      Proven ability to design reliable, maintainable automation in complex enterprise environments
      Solid understanding of system dependencies, integrations, and operational workflows

    Preferred Qualifications

      Experience with endpoint management platforms (e.g., Microsoft Intune)
