Automation Software Engineer

In this role, you will automate software tools, build workflows, and create digital environments to increase efficiency and reduce manual work. You will develop and maintain software solutions while integrating new tools into the AT&S systems landscape. As part of the Electronics Service Hub, you will contribute to high quality, reliable processes and enable new digital capabilities for internal and external customers.

• Develop extensions, scripts, and automation solutions based on internal priorities to enable a more efficient workstyle.
• Maintain existing software tools and migrate them to new platforms in alignment with IT guidelines.
• Work within defined software development environments to ensure compatibility and seamless integration across departments.
• Optimize browser based graphical user interfaces to improve usability and operational efficiency.
• Define working environments according to IT guidelines and document integrations as part of standard business processes.
• Integrate newly developed tools into the AT&S systems landscape to support streamlined workflows.
• Translate requirements into automation logic and support cross department digital workflows through robust software solutions.

• Completed technical education (HTL or comparable)
• Proven experience in software development, scripting, automation engineering, or a similar technical field.
• Demonstrated expertise in AI technologies, including prompt engineering, Microsoft Copilot Studio, and related automation tools.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C, JavaScript, and Visual Basic, with experience in automation, system level tasks, UI development, or legacy integration.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, basic Linux (SUSE), workflow tools (SharePoint, MSSQL, PowerShell, Microsoft Graph), and system integration.
• Familiarity with development environments, version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD processes, and AI assisted workflows.
• Strong problem solving mindset, self organized working style, and ability to work independently in a newly established service area.
• Excellent communication, documentation (ISO27001/ISO9001), and interpersonal skills, with intercultural competence.
• Fluency in German and English (minimum B2 level) and willingness to learn new programming languages or AI based environments.

In your role, you will design end to end IT solutions that seamlessly combine infrastructure capabilities, security requirements, and business needs. As a key architectural expert, you ensure that our systems are robust, secure, scalable, and compliant. You act as a strategic connector between business stakeholders, infrastructure teams, and security functions-shaping sustainable and resilient IT services across the entire organization.

• Design secure, scalable end to end solution architectures across IT infrastructure.
• Translate business and technical requirements into feasible and secure solution designs.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles, security standards, and IT strategy.
• Lead infrastructure- and security relevant initiatives as the responsible solution architect.
• Create and maintain architecture artefacts such as diagrams and decision records.

• Solid understanding of IT security principles and frameworks (ISO 27001, NIS2, NIST, TISAX).
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills combined with stakeholder management strength.
• Structured, reliable, and detail oriented working style; Fluent in English; German is an advantage.
• Ability to balance architectural governance with practical implementation needs.
