    We are looking for a Senior HPC Systems Engineer experienced in deploying and configuring complex opensource packages, and in managing cluster schedulers. A solid background in Linux, scripting and parallel filesystems is mandatory.

    Your role

    • Deploy and maintains the Scientific Computing's computational and data science ecosystem withGPUs, high bandwidth, low latency interconnects, large memory nodes, scientific workflows, and 2.5 petabytes of storage in a production environment.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues including systems, hardware, application software, and networking.
    • Design, develop, implement system administration tasks, including hardware and software configuration, configuration management, networking and metrics.
    • Actively monitor the systems.
    • Answer and resolve user tickets.

    Your profile

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or another scientific field. Master's or PhD preferred.
    • 4+ years (higher preferred) of HPC (High Performance Computing) system administration and operations.
    • Solid foundation in Linux system administration and scripting (e.g., bash, python).
    • Experienced with a job scheduler such as Slurm
    • Experienced with parallel file systems and storage. Lustre is preferred
    • Experience with configuration management and orchestration software. BCM is preferred
    • Experience with reproducible software installations is preferred
    • Experience with Infiniband is preferred.
    • Experience with GPUs is preferred.
    • Experience with containers is preferred.

    Our site in Lanzenkirchen, based in the south of Vienna, is Hilti's Competence Center for Ventilated Façade and Installation Systems such as Pipe clamps and Heavy modular systems.     Aufgaben

    In this role, you will be responsible for deriving mechanical resistance characteristics for a global installation fixation portfolio, ensuring compliance with international building standards and utilizing advanced structural analysis methods. You will apply testing and finite element analysis techniques, recommend and execute non-linear finite element models, and develop concepts for technical data creation and design methods.

    Key responsibilities include creating and reviewing technical documentation, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting hardware and software development projects. You will also contribute to innovation by identifying new opportunities in products, processes, and software while supporting product development and special market requests. Additionally, you will act as a key counterpart for local and regional engineering marketing and application engineering teams.

    What you need is:

    • University Degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (MSc or higher)
    • + 3 years relevant working experience
    • Knowledge of modern design tools such as 2D(3D), FEM
    • Knowledge about Eurocode and national codes
    • Experience in structural engineering with steel
    • Fluent in English (B2 level minimum), all other languages are a plus
    • Mastery of static analyses and ability to explain results to externals
    • Ability and experience to think/imagine in 3D modular support system applications

    Supporting the Idea to Retire (I2R) Digital Transformation (DT) workstream, the I2R Technical Instructor is responsible for delivering comprehensive training programs for our product development team members as they adopt new systems and new ways of working. You will be responsible for equipping our employees with the knowledge and skills they need to excel in their roles and contribute to our cutting-edge projects. This position requires a deep understanding of high-tech product design and development engineering and processes, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching and mentoring.


    Aufgaben
    • Collaborate with DT transformational change management (TCM), I2R, and functional teams to assess learning content.
    • Deliver technical training tailored to the needs of our product development and engineering team members.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts and content creators to enhance training materials, including presentations, manuals, e-learning modules, and hands-on exercises.
    • Deliver impactful, meaningful, and relevant instruction through a blend of classroom instruction, virtual training, workshops, hands-on sessions, and one-on-one coaching.
    • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations, feedback, and performance metrics, and recommend improvements to enhance learning outcomes.
    • Provide support and guidance to employees, helping them troubleshoot technical issues and apply their learning to real-world projects.
    • Maintain training records and documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
    • Work closely with Change Management, TCM, I2R, and other DT workstreams, and Organizational Learning and Development to ensure alignment and support for training initiatives.

    Profil
    • Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Physics) with 5+ years of proven experience as a technical trainer for complex hardware engineering; or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent experience.
    • Knowledgeable in the use of product lifecycle management (PLM) applications.
    • Strong understanding of high-tech research and development processes, methodologies, and technologies.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
    • Proficiency in delivering training materials using tools and platforms, such as Microsoft Teams.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across organizational boundaries and leadership levels.
    • Passion for continuous learning.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Advanced degree in a related field.
    • Advanced experience with Siemens Teamcenter, SAP, and 3D CAD tools.
    • Experience working in complex product development environments with global technical teams, such as engineering and advanced research and development.
    • Experience with learning management systems (LMS), Cornerstone OnDemand (CSOD) a plus.

    Wir bieten

    This position will be occupied in Villach. It is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry in occupation group F depending on educational background. A higher payment is negotiable depending on expertise and skills. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year.
